Unconscious 9-year old rescued and given CPR at Prince Albert water park

An unconscious 9-year old child was given CPR after he was rescued at Prince Albert water park. The lifeguards at the Kinsmen Water Park in Prince Albert were recognized for saving the life of a child who almost drowned in the main pool.

The staff discovered the child unconscious and quickly performed CPR. Upon arrival of the paramedics from Parkland Ambulance at the park, the child was already alert.

The 9-year old was transported to the Victoria Hospital for treatment together with an adult family member.

The City of Prince Albert stated that all children below 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult who is within reach in the water. As for children below 10 years old, they must be accompanied by an adult at the park.

The Kinsmen Water Park was closed for investigation and debrief with the staff. The Parkland Ambulance Paramedics confirmed that the child is in good, stable condition.
