Man with life-threatening injuries given CPR in Pickering shooting

A 27-year old with life-threatening injuries was given CPR. The incident occurred in the Pickering parking lot. The witnesses told police that a verbal altercation preceded the shooting.

The officers were called to the scene outside a bar close to Bayly Street and Brock Road. They found a victim who was from Ajax on the ground with a single gunshot wound. The responding officers administered CPR until the arrival of the paramedics.

The victim was rushed to a Toronto trauma center for further treatment. A witness told investigators that the man was involved in a verbal altercation with another man sitting inside a vehicle.

Based on a news release by the police, a shot was fired from inside the vehicle and the man walking in the parking lot collapsed to the ground. The suspect vehicle sped away.

Some people who were nearby when the shooting occurred were interviewed by the police.
