A man in his mid-20s was killed and 3 were arrested after APD officer pursued a fleeing vehicle into Mission. One man is dead after a shooting incident in the Townline Hill area of west Abbotsford.
Shooting incident
The police were called to Steelhead Court and found a man in his mid-20s with gunshot wounds. Despite the prompt emergency first aid measures given to the victim, he was later declared dead on the scene. Family members and friends gathered at the scene were informed of the death of the victim before 10:30 AM.
According to the police, they spotted a vehicle fleeing the area at high speed. The officer followed. Attempts to pull over the vehicle failed and the pursuit continued into Mission, where RCMP deployed a spike belt. In a short while, 3 men were arrested.
A section of Highway 7 was sealed off just east of the Murray Street bypass that provides access to Highway 11 and Abbotsford.
There is no sign yet if the incident has a connection to the Townline Hill conflict where 2 groups of young men are fighting over the drug turf both in the area and across the Lower Mainland.
