Child in life-threatening condition after unresponsive at an outdoor pool

A child below three years of age is in a life-threatening condition after a near-drowning ordeal at Prairie Winds Park.

The paramedics were called to the scene around 4:30 PM after the female toddler was found unresponsive at the outdoor pool. According to the Calgary Police, the child was believed to be drowning before emergency crews were called to the northeast park.

A bystander, who was on the opposite side of the park saw somebody doing CPR so she ran over to help. The child was hooked up to an AED.

The child was transported to Peter Lougheed hospital in critical, life-threatening condition.
