The Alex Fraser Bridge crash involved several vehicles and victims that require first aid. A 5-car crash on the Alex Fraser Bridge left a taxi sitting on top of another vehicle.
Road crash
The incident occurred in the northbound centre lane. According to Const. Mike Halskoy, the incident was indirectly brought about by a stalled vehicle part way up the bridge deck.
A vehicle was travelling some distance behind came across the stall. Brakes were applied and stopped and it resulted to a 5-car chain reaction collision that strangely did not involve the vehicle that had stalled. The incident looked dramatic since one car ended up on top of another one. Luckily, injuries were minor and only require first aid care. The road was quickly cleared by Deas Island Traffic, BC Ambulance and Delta Fire.
Weather is considered as a factor in the collision. At the time of the incident, it was heavily raining and the person stalled and others came upon it unexpectedly.
When driving under bad weather conditions, it is recommended to slow down and allow extra space with vehicles in front of them and ensure that the windshield is in good condition and not fogged up.
Invest in a first aid course
It is recommended to learn basic first aid skills. You never know when emergencies occur so that you are prepared.
