Victim of weekend drowning in Muskoka River given CPR

The man was drowned after weekend swimming received CPR. The drowning incident occurred on the Muskoka River.

Watery ordeal

The Bracebridge OPP and emergency crews were called to help after a man failed to surface while swimming in the Muskoka River shortly before 1 PM.

A man was swimming in the river with a friend when he went into distress and slipped under the water. The victim was located by bystanders and CPR was carried out.

The 20-year old Roberto Carmona of North York was transported to a local healthcare facility where he was declared dead. An investigation of the incident is ongoing.
