Victim of head crash collision receives CPR

The incident involving a head collision occurred at around 7:35 AM. An 87-year old Upper Fraser Valley man just died due to a head-on collision in Lake Country.

Both the RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are working closely to figure out the root cause of the head-on collision. The incident severely injured the man and fatally injured another.

The emergency crews in Lake Country rushed to the site after received reports of a serious head-on collision. According to one witness who stayed at the scene, a gray Chevrolet Impala crossed the centerline of the highway and collided head-on with a northbound black Chrysler 300 from Alberta.

The emergency medical crews along with the Lake Country Fire Department and BC Ambulance Service delivered CPR on the 87-year old driver of the gray Chevrolet who slipped into cardiac arrest.

According to Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna Regional RCMP and spokesperson for the Lake Country Detachment, the elderly Upper Fraser Valley man was transported from the scene in serious condition and passed away while on the way to the healthcare facility.

The driver of the Chrysler 300, a 52-year old man from central Alberta was transported to a healthcare facility for treatment. He also sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries from the collision.

Both vehicles are designated for mechanical inspection and will be part of the ongoing investigation.
