A toddler who was given CPR in a taxi is still in a hospital. The father of a 17-month old was becoming unresponsive while in a taxi shared that his son is still recovering in a hospital. He wants to thank those who helped save the boy’s life.
According to the father, he, his wife, and toddler Christopher were in a Jiffy Cab and headed to buy groceries when the toddler ceased to breathe. The child had no heart rate and not breathing. The father removed the child out of the car seat and placed it on the passenger side and started CPR for up to 15 minutes before the first responders arrived and took over.
CBC News reported last week that the child had become unresponsive and the dispatcher for Jiffy Cabs relayed CPR instructions over the cab radio until an ambulance reached the scene.
