SeaBus passenger called hero after performing CPR

A SeaBus passenger suffered a seizure and progressed into cardiac arrest around 8:45 PM while travelling from Waterfront Station. A good Samaritan acted and executed CPR until the paramedics arrived at the scene.

A North Vancouver resident, Brian Counihan was the one who saved the life of the man. According to Counihan, he was not aware on how long it took or what happened around him.

He focused on providing care to the man until the paramedics arrived. It was then he looked up and realized that everyone else already left the SeaBus for some time.CPR

With the rapid turn of events, Counihan encourages everyone to be knowledgeable about first aid training. The incident showed him how important it is and eagerly considered going through a refresher first aid and CPR course in the coming months.

The man who collapses fully recovered and released from the hospital on the same day and requested to remain anonymous.

Why is first aid training important?

Since emergencies occur when you least expect it, you should enroll in a first aid and CPR course. This is a good investment where can help save a life during critical emergencies. You never know who might be in danger, it can be a family member, friend or co-worker. With the basic first aid skills, you can improve the chances of survival.
