Saving a life outside a coffee shop with timely CPR

When someone was calling out if anyone knows CPR, Dylan Duncan made a move. The man, Lane Burman needed help after a heart attack.

Prompt intervention

Luckily, Duncan just recently learned CPR and growing up, he was taught to always help people who are in trouble.

He ran as fast as he could and called 911 and initiated CPR. Duncan was shocked, scared and tired at the same time because all the emotions were flowing. His mind was blank. There was not a lot of going through his mind and it was mostly impulsed.

At the time when Duncan started to help Burman until the arrival of the paramedics, it felt like at least half an hour but was closer to 12 minutes.

Quick thinking

Duncan went with the police to the hospital to ensure that Burman would be fine and gave Burman Zinger his name and left.

Burman Zinger thought that it would be easy to get in touch with him in the following days, but he was difficult to track down.

Duncan performed CPR and it saved his brain and allowed blood to pump throughout the body.
