One victim given CPR: Deadly shooting incident in Abbotsford

A deadly shooting involving a man given CPR in Abbotsford was targeted. Cameron Mackay was at home on Crown Court when he heard 5 bands after 9 PM. Along with neighbors on the otherwise quiet cul-de-sac just west of Clearbrooke Road, they learned that the sounds were gunshots and a man sustained gunshot wounds.

The police arrived on the scene to find the victim lying in a yard. The officers quickly performed CPR until the arrival of the BC Ambulance personnel who took over. The man was transported to a healthcare facility where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation of the case is headed by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) which identified the victim as Gurdey “Dave” Hair of Abbotsford, 45-years old who is known to police. The shooting appears to be targeted. There are no suspects identified at this time.
