First aid performed on a woman hit by a vehicle

A woman who was given first aid care after struck by a vehicle passed away. Jeannette Runciman, wife of longtime MPP and former senator Bob Runciman died after an unforeseen ordeal in Brockville.

Jeannette was with her husband in the parking lot of the Brockville General Hospital when the incident occurred just after 1 PM. It has been confirmed by the police in a news release that a vehicle was backing out of a parking space when it hit her.

Witnesses and paramedics quickly performed first aid at the scene and she was quickly rushed to the emergency room where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The Brockville Police are asking for witnesses who were present in the area to come forward and aid with the investigation.
