Firefighters deliver CPR after pulling victims from house fire

A large contingent of emergency crews responded to a house fire at 17808 93 St. At the site, 2 young teens were pulled out from a house fire.

Timely rescue of teens

The Edmonton Fire Rescue Services Deputy Chief Scott MacDonald stated that 2 young teenagers were quickly transported to a healthcare facility after the emergency crew delivered CPR.

The fire started in the kitchen and was contained but 2 teenage children were retrieved from the upstairs. Both were given CPR at the time. Immediate delivery of CPR is vital in increasing the chances of survival.

The father was under treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning at the scene while the mother was unharmed.

A dozen emergency response vehicles were on the street in the Lago Lindo neighborhood east of 97 Street and south of Anthony Henday Drive. The Fire Rescue Services and Emergency Medical Services paramedics were joined by the Edmonton Police Service officers.
