The fire started at around 9:30 PM on the second floor of a food preparation business on Pandora Street near Commercial Drive. Upon the arrival of the firefighters, they saw light smoke coming from the rear of the building near the roof.

The crews entered the building from the front, made their way to the upper floors to find the fire. There were zero visibility conditions, extreme heat and they found a man, brought him outside, and started CPR.
