A motorcyclist was given CPR after a highway incident. The Whistler RCMP stated that a motorcyclist died after a logging truck spilled its load on the Sea-to-Sky highway which stopped the traffic in both directions.
Log incident on the highway
The truck was southbound on the Highway 99 when it lost control driving around a bend near the Nordic area of Whistler. The logs struck a northbound motorcycle and another vehicle. The motorcyclist was taken to the Whistler Health Care Centre but has since died from his injuries. The police did not confirm the age of the victim.
The occupants of the vehicle struck by logs were taken to a healthcare facility for precautionary reasons.
The truck driver sustained injuries in the accident, but officials have not disclosed how severe they are. The major route was closed due to “a motor vehicle incident”.
One witness in the area stated that she heard a massive bang followed by smoke before fire trucks arrive on the scene. A logger truck tipped over and landed the logs on a motorbike out for a ride. CPR was performed on the motorcyclist.
