Rapid action to save a life

The two staff members quickly rushed into action at a UBC pool when they saw Colton Boechler, 11-years old under serious trouble in the water.

As one lifeguard reached the boy and dragged him out of the water, the other ran to obtain an automated external defibrillator (AED). The availability and prompt use of an AED can help save a life, especially during cardiac emergencies. You can be prepared to help in such cases by joining a training class on first aid, CPR and AED.
