ATV driver dies in collision with pickup truck

A man died when his ATV collided with a pickup truck and trailer that contains active beehives. The pickup was moving west when the ATV moved out of the ditch, crossing the road and collided with the truck.

The ATV driver, 32-years old died at the scene. The man who was driving the truck, 27- years old sustained minor injuries. Upon arrival of the RCMP officers on the scene, the pickup truck was in the south ditch and the ATV that was severely damaged was on the road.

One of the drivers immediately performed CPR on the ATV driver who was lying on the road.

Tony Kuleza was driving on the way home when he saw the crash shortly after it occurred.

Presence of bees

Kuleza saw bees on the road while several of the hives on the flatbed trailer were broken. The 2 people who were in the truck were having a conversation with the emergency responders on their phone.

Kuleza took out his phone and turned on the flashlight to flag down other drivers. One of the drivers immediately performed CPR on the ATV driver who was lying on the road.

In no time, the paramedics and STARS Air Ambulance arrived on the scene. According to the RCMP, alcohol is not a contributing factor to the collision. As part of the investigation, a forensic collision reconstructionist is assisting with the case.
