A woman retrieved from the river receives CPR

A young woman who was pulled from the water died despite immediate CPR. The drowning incident occurred in Lac du Bonnet.

Unforeseen ordeal in the water

According to the RCMP, they received a call to a house on McArthur Avenue in the town. Upon arrival, they found several people performing CPR on the woman, 23-years old who was pulled from the nearby Winnipeg River.

Sadly, the woman was declared dead at the scene. Her name was not released. The RCMP and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are still investigating the case. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the root cause of death.
