The 20-year old man shot in Abbotsford on Canada Day died of his injuries. The case is now handled by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT). The victim was identified as Tanner Henderson.
Shooting claims a life
Tanner was shot in the head and passed away the next day. The shooting occurred at around 6:15 PM when the Abbotsford Police Department received a 911 hang-up call alerting them to a potential shooting at a residence in the 2500 block of Birch Street.
A BC Ambulance Service arrived at the residence and found Henderson who sustained a gunshot wound. After the delivery of emergency first aid on the victim, he was transported to a healthcare facility in critical condition but later died of his injuries.
Charges were not yet laid against the 18-year old who was arrested in connection with the incident.
