The pilot of a small plane that crashed in Nelson, B.C. was given CPR. Sadly, the man died. The 57-year old pilot from Trail, B.C., was able to inform the RCMP officials earlier in the day via cellphone that he suffered a broken leg and other injuries but was unable to tell him where he was.
Unforeseen crash
The authorities started a ground and air search of an area near Marsden Road and Highway 3A. The search was hampered by low cloud cover, dense brush and steep terrain.
After 5 hours, the search and rescuers finally found the pilot and the plane which was an older model Cessna. CPR was delivered on the pilot but the resuscitation effort was not successful. The identity of the man was withheld until his family could be informed.
