CPR was performed by young brothers on their grandmother. Patti Chatterson and her 2 grandsons were settling in for a movie night. It was 5 minutes into the film when the 62-year’s old heart ceased to beat. When Grayson Wu, 7-years old asked his grandmother a question, she did not answer.
Life on the line
Her head had flipped back and her mouth was hanging open and making gurgling sounds. She could not recall any of this, but when she woke up 4 days later, she is in a healthcare facility on life support. She was told that Grayson and his 10-year old brother, Kian, saved her life by calling 911 and performing CPR.
According to their grandmother, they kept their cool so well who is a nurse. Her daughter, the boy’s mother is also a nurse and just recently taught her sons on the lifesaving procedure.
She was defibrillated up to 4 times by the paramedics. The doctors couldn’t figure out what prompted her heart to flat-line either. Cardiac arrest is far worse than a heart attack. The heart stops to beat unless CPR is started or an AED is used.
