The family wants criminal charges pursued against the driver who hit Mann. According to Surrey RCMP Cpl. Drew Grainger, the Mounties are currently investigating the mechanical condition of the car and the possibility that the driver was distracted along with other contributing factors.

Grainger could not say for certain whether there was a live cellphone in the car at the time, but the investigation would involve examination of the phone records to figure out whether there was a call being made at the time of the accident.
