CPR was necessary when a collision between an ATV and pickup truck occurred. A man passed away when his ATV crashed with a pickup truck and trailer that contained active beehives.
Unforeseen ordeal
The pickup was traveling westward when the ATV came out of the ditch, crossed the road, and crashed with the truck. The driver of the ATV sadly died at the scene. The man driving the truck, 27-years old sustained minor injuries.
Tony Kuleza was heading home when he spotted the collision shortly after it occurred. For him, the scene was strange.
According to Kuleza, he saw bees on the road and several of the hives on the flatbed trailer were damaged. There were two people in the truck who were talking to emergency responders on their phones.
Kuleza took out his phone and switched on the flashlight to flag down other drivers. One of the drivers initiated CPR on the ATV driver who was lying on the road. Soon after, the paramedics and STARS Air Ambulance arrived.
Kuleza stated that when the paramedics were performing CPR, some of them were being stung by the bees. There was an added hazard to the scene.
