Increasing cases of death from cardiac arrest
In Canada, an individual who suffers a cardiac arrest outside a healthcare facility has a 5% chance of survival. There is a higher success rate is high if people are trained.
Seattle has the best survival rate in the world for cardiac arrests due to the training. Although CPR training is vital in a work environment, knowledge extends beyond the workplace.
Rapid action with CPR
It is important to note that brain damage starts between 4-6 minutes post-arrest. The delivery of 30 chest compressions followed by 2 mouth-to-mouth pumps is still the best CPR practice.
