The deadly collision resulted in the death of an elderly pedestrian

An 81-year old woman was declared dead after being hit by a vehicle in Richmond. According to the police, she was walking near No. 1 Road and Tucker Road when she was hit by a Mercedes SUV.

Good Samaritans rushed to help her and even performed CPR until the arrival of the emergency crews. She was transported to a healthcare facility and later declared dead.

According to the police, the driver, a 78-year old man remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Neither speed nor alcohol was considered as factors in the collision.
