Shooting incident

The police received a call from a housing complex in the Rundle Heights neighborhood after residents reported a fight. They found a man in medical distress who died despite attempts at resuscitation with CPR. The investigators identified the man as 32-year old Clinton Roderick Roasting.

A man who lives nearby stated that he was watching a movie with his common-law partner when they heard an argument followed by a gunshot. He ran out and shouted for someone to call an ambulance. A neighbor from a nearby home emerged with medical supplies.

They found a man lying on a sidewalk between 2 townhouses near 116A Avenue and 32 Street and delivered CPR for 8-10 minutes before the victim passed away.

Bystander action

The victim who was in a state of shock from a bullet wound to the neck initially tried to fight them off before realizing they were there to help. Another man supported the head of the victim while a woman who lives nearby checked the man’s pulse and held his hand.
