According to Michelle’s sister, Kendra Baldwin, she was the first in the water and the first to reach the children. She saved them and brought them to the shore.

Children ran into the water with their boogie boards which were only up to their knees. In just seconds, they were already out in the sea and the riptide came in and took them right out. The children were waving their arms and shouting for help.
