Preschooler who was found unconscious given CPR

A preschooler who was found unconscious received CPR. The police are investigating after a toddler was found unconscious in a backyard swimming pool during a Sunday afternoon birthday party in the Outaouais municipality of Val-des-Monts, northeast of Gatineau.

Unforeseen ordeal

The three-year old was in critical but stable condition in the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario after being initially taken via ambulance to the Gatineau Hospital according to Const. Miguel Belzile of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais.

The police had a few details to release but Belzile stated that the boy was attending a child’s birthday party at a house on Chermin de Terres when he was found unconscious in an above-ground pool.

He was pulled from the pool and given CPR treatment by family members before the arrival of the paramedics. The officer added that while adults were present, there were many children at the party.

The delivery of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is vital during emergencies. It can significantly improve the chances of survival during emergencies.
