The quick thinking of neighbors saves the life of a toddler with CPR. They were recognized as heroes after saving a toddler from drowning in a backyard pool in an upscale neighborhood of Surrey, B.C.
Life on the line
The little girl, Brooklyn, who is two-and-a-half years old, fell into the pool. Her mother pulled her out after seeing her lying face down in the water.
As the mother called 911, Mario Knezevic rushed outside, grabbed the child from the pool and started performing CPR. Another neighbor, a doctor, took over CPR until the arrival of an air ambulance that transported the toddler to BC Children’s Hospital.
The police stated that she is now breathing on her own and her prognosis is very good. It is estimated that she was in the water for less than five minutes.
