Police officers save a life with quick CPR and administration of Naloxone. The LaSalle police share that a life was saved by one of their officers by using Naloxone.
The police responded to a residence after a man went into medical distress. The police were the first on the scene and saw a person attempting to perform CPR on the man who had no vital signs.
The officers quickly took over and suspected that the man was suffering from an overdose of opioids due to his symptoms. It was at that point that the officers decided to administer Naloxone twice while continuing with the chest compressions.
The man regained consciousness and transported to a hospital by paramedics. The man is expected to make a full recovery thanks to the lifesaving efforts of the officers.
