Regina first aid

Fares and mandatory masks for Halifax Transit passengers

Mandatory face masks and fare collection will be enforced on all Halifax Transit buses and ferries. Face masks will be mandatory in keeping with the public health order.

Children below two years of age and those with a medical reason for not wearing a mask are exempted. The transit riders will be responsible for bringing their own masks.

The mandatory use of masks and the installation of polycarbonate shields next to bus drivers will provide appropriate mitigation of risk linked with COVID-19. All capacity restrictions on buses, Access-a-Buses, and ferries will be lifted as of August 1.

Mandatory face masks and fare collection will be enforced on all Halifax Transit buses and ferries.

The fare collection that was discontinued in the early days of the pandemic will resume on August 1 on all buses and ferries. Passengers will be permitted to enter buses through the front doors.

As part of the mask awareness campaign, Halifax Transit staff will continue to hand out masks periodically via pop-up events at select locations throughout the municipality. Those who are feeling sick are reminded not to use any transit service until their health returns to normal.
