A young boy who died outside a hockey arena was given CPR. He was found outside a hockey rink on Vancouver Island. The Cowichan Capitals were playing the Victoria Grizzlies in a minor league game in Duncan when the boy was found.

Unexpected ordeal
According to police, the Grizzlies’ team bus driver spotted the boy lying unresponsive on the ground. The medical staff from both BCHL teams rushed to help with a defibrillator and performed CPR but the boy died a short time after in a healthcare facility.
According to David Vandeventer spokesperson for the Cowichan Capitals, the medical staff attempted to help the boy to no avail. The team doctor was involved as well as the team trainer.
The police did not believe that the cause of death has a criminal nature and the B.C. Coroner’s Service declined to comment until after the weekend.
