Bike patrol officers save a life with CPR

The life of a Regina man was saved with rapid delivery of CPR by bike patrol officers. The officers came upon John Klein in Wascana Park while he was in cardiac arrest.

Prompt intervention

The 34-year old man was on his bike in the park for the Canada Day celebrations when he realized he was having some form of a cardiac event. At that time, he stopped and became disoriented. For several minutes, he was helpless and slumped on a park bench.

Two police officers on bicycles came upon him and quickly realized he was in some form of medical distress. They quickly started CPR and shortly after, the paramedics were on the scene to transport Klein to a healthcare facility.

Klein who has recovered from the episode stated that things would have been different if the officers were not there.
