CPR was performed on an unresponsive inmate. Sadly, the sudden death of the inmate despite CPR is under investigation.
Death within the cell
Based on the reports, it was around 10 AM when a male inmate was found unresponsive in his cell. The staff quickly performed CPR. When the EMS arrived, they took over with the life-saving measures. The inmate was later declared dead on the scene.
The case is under review by the Chief Medical Examiner together with the police. An internal assessment will be carried out to prevent similar events in the future.
