An 82-year old man is in a serious but stable condition after paramedics performed CPR to revive him. The incident occurred at a store in Ottawa’s west-end.
The paramedics responded to a call for an unconscious man at a Giant Tiger on Merivale Road at around 1:20 PM. Upon arrival, the paramedics performed CPR on the man.
After around 10 minutes of delivering continuous CPR with the help of an automated chest compression machine, the man regained a pulse and slowly began to regain consciousness. The man was transported to a hospital in serious but stable condition.
The necessity of first aid training
During emergencies, you should be knowledgeable on basic first aid skills. You must enroll in first aid and CPR course to be prepared. You never know when emergencies occur and where.
