An 81-year old woman was declared dead after being hit by a vehicle in Richmond. According to the police, she was walking near No. 1 Road and Tucker Road when she was hit by a Mercedes SUV.
Good Samaritans rushed to help her and even performed CPR until the arrival of the emergency crews. She was transported to a healthcare facility and later declared dead.
According to the police, the driver, a 78-year old man remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Neither speed nor alcohol was considered as factors in the collision.
For those traveling by foot or bicycle, it is recommended to wear clothing with reflective materials and use a flashing safety light. For motorists, plan your travels with time to spare and drive attentively.
