Victim of collision received life-saving CPR

A victim of a collision was given CPR. One person is dead while another was transported to a healthcare facility after a collision in Whitby.

Unforeseen collision

The two-vehicle collision involved a mini-van and a sedan. The accident occurred at Cochrane and Dundas street at around 9:30 PM.

The police stated that the sedan ended up on a property adjacent to the road after the crash. The first responders delivered CPR but were not successful in saving the driver. One person from the van was transported to a local hospital after the crash.

The video from the scene submitted revealed firefighters dousing the flames at the side of the road. The gas tank from one of the vehicles detached traveled across the road and caught fire.

The two severely damaged vehicles were seen resting at the scene of the crash, with debris scattered around the roadway. The intersection is expected to be shut down for several hours as police investigate.
