A priest was stabbed at the famous Saint Joseph Oratory of Montreal was released from the hospital with only minor injuries. The priest is already feeling fine.

According to the priest named Father Claude Grou, he did not know the man who stabbed him. The man walked to the front of the church and attacked him during a morning mass. People who attended the mass immediately helped the priest and provided first aid to him. Nothing can stop Grou from returning to the pulpit, despite the incident. Father Grou stated in the news that he is not afraid to go back to work. The oratory will remain where people are welcomed in a place of calm, a place of peace and place for prayers even if there are moments like that.
The Montreal police arrested the suspect; a 26-year-old man was taken to the station for questioning. The suspect is known to the police.
According to the investigators, they received a call about a stabbing incident at the church about 8:40 Friday morning. Father Grou was in the process of celebrating mass before 60 people. The mass was being televised by a Catholic television network and airs regularly religious ceremony every day when the incident happened. In the video, they saw a man wearing a dark winter coat and wearing a baseball cap. He then pulled out a large knife and walked in front of the altar and run towards the priest. Grou tried to run away but the suspect catches up with the priest. The suspect pushed the priest down on the ground before he appears to stab him. The suspect was later restrained by three men. Other people in the church immediately helped Grou and provided him with first aid. The paramedics brought the priest immediately to the hospital for further treatment.
A witness saw that the assailant slashed the stomach of Grou and the knife broke during the attack. Father Grou thanked everyone especially to the people who have concern for his health. He plans to return to work after recovering from his injuries.
Father Claude Grou is now 77 years old and has been with Saint Joseph’s Oratory for about 20 years. People working at the oratory and some of the pilgrims are praying for him.
