7-year-old child given CPR after river incident

A 7-year-old child received CPR after involved in the river incident. Sadly, the child died after slipping into the Petawawa River.

Watery ordeal

According to the police, Mason Ryan and a friend were walking along the Summit Trail when at around 7:15 PM, Ryan fell into the water. The friend ran to get help.

The first adult on the scene found Ryan’s body in the water and initiated CPR before the arrival of the emergency crews. Sadly, Ryan was declared dead in the healthcare facility.

OPP stated that foul play is not suspected. An autopsy will be carried out to confirm the cause of death, which is believed to be drowning.
